Milwaukee Road Steam Era in Wisconsin, Volume 1: The Main Line
Stock #: KB10762
Author: Thomas E. Burg
SOLD OUT
Out of Print.
The Milwaukee Road (Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul, later Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific) is a major feature of the Roy Campbell Collection. To share as many of these as possible, Merrill Publishing Associates has divided the photos into three groups and will be publishing them in three separate volumes: The Main Line; Secondary and Branch Lines; and the City of Milwaukee. The Main Line volume is the first of the three. It follows the Wisconsin portion of the Milwaukee Road's Chicago-Twin Cities main line, which entered from Illinois at Ranney and departed the state by crossing the Mississippi River at LaCrosse. The line hosted the railroad's premiere passenger trains, from early Pioneer Limited and Day Express through Olympian and Columbian to the striking Hiawathas. In-between, all manner of freights plied the line. Soft cover. more»
